Reetha Powder ( Soapnut )
WHAT NATURALLY IT CONTAINS
Natural saponins, plant compounds and antioxidants.Traditionally used for cleansing, scalp care and natural lather
What it is
Just Reetha. Nothing else.
Reetha, also known as soapnut, has been used in Indian homes for generations as a natural cleanser for hair and skin. Derived from the fruit of the Sapindus tree, it naturally contains saponins, plant compounds that create a gentle lather when mixed with water. Long before modern shampoos and cleansers became common, Reetha was already part of everyday cleansing rituals.
Among traditional hair-wash ingredients, Reetha played a supporting but important role. While Shikakai formed the foundation of the wash, Reetha was often added when extra cleansing and natural lather were preferred. Together, they created a more complete herbal wash that many households relied on for regular hair care.
Because of its naturally occurring saponins, Reetha is traditionally used to remove excess oil, buildup and impurities from the scalp and hair. It is often chosen by those looking for a natural shampoo alternative and remains one of the most widely recognised herbal cleansing ingredients today.
Beyond hair care, Reetha has also been used as a gentle cleanser for the skin. Mixed with water into a simple paste, it forms a traditional cleansing preparation that can be used on both the face and body.
What we carry is single-ingredient reetha powder — dried and powdered. No additives. No fragrance. No fillers. Just reetha, the way it has always been used.
Traditionally Used Alongside
Reetha was rarely used on its own. In many homes, it was added to Shikakai when extra cleansing and natural lather were preferred. Arappu helped soften the wash, while Amla was often included for nourishment and shine. Bhringraj and Hibiscus became part of more elaborate hair-care preparations depending on the ritual.
