What it is

Just Vetiver. Nothing else.

Vettiver, also known as vetiver, has long been valued in Indian homes for its naturally cooling nature. Derived from the roots of the Chrysopogon zizanioides plant, it contains naturally occurring plant compounds, antioxidants and nutrients that have made it a familiar part of traditional hair-care and skincare rituals, particularly during warmer months.
Long before cooling products came in bottles and tubes, Vettiver was already part of seasonal routines. It was used when the weather became hotter, when the scalp felt uncomfortable, or when a cooling element was desired in face and body packs. Its role was simple: to bring balance and comfort during the summer months.
In hair-care rituals, Vettiver was often included alongside cleansing ingredients such as Shikakai and conditioning ingredients such as Arappu. While Shikakai handled cleansing and Arappu softened the wash, Vettiver contributed its cooling nature to the preparation. Amla and Bhringraj were frequently added to create more nourishing scalp-care blends.
For skin, Vettiver was commonly used in cooling face packs. Mixed with water, rose water or milk, it became part of simple preparations designed to refresh and comfort the skin. It was often combined with Sandalwood and Multani Mitti, especially during warmer seasons when cooling skincare rituals became more common.
What we carry is single-ingredient vettiver powder — dried and powdered. No additives. No fragrance. No fillers. Just vettiver, the way it has always been used.
